ArtHubs Youngplace Hallway Galleries invites you for a collage workshop with artist Alysha Rocca, and an exhibition by Jason Bomers during the West Queen West Art Crawl TOMORROW (Thursday, June 19th, from 5 to 9 PM) Creating Collages: A Workshop for Play’ featuring Alysha Rocca | All materials and supplies included. This workshop will help artists gain a better understanding of the elements and principles of art and design to create their own collage artwork. The workshop includes a creation station of magazines, paper, and craft bits to inspire youth in making collage postcards. The workshop will have a focus on what makes a work of art successful – the importance of colour coordinating, what shapes and pieces work well together, and why that’s important.
Upstream’ an exhibition by Jason Bomers. A multidisciplinary artist, Jason will be staging a takeover of both the Second and Third Floor Hallway galleries with his visually arresting works.
At Gladstone House, check out It Starts with a Photograph, four exhibitions and installations by six artists who use photographs as the starting point for experimentation and reinterpretation. In the Art Studio, meet the hotel’s resident artists. @theodore.walkerrobinson weaves on a heddle loom, @makhism creates large drawings inspired by Persian miniature painting and @dalin_dal combines textiles and technology.
Propeller Art Gallery
We had a spectacular turnout last night for the WQW Art Crawl. We estimate that over 70 people came by Propeller to see Jim Kroesen’s film installation “Permutations”, and our current exhibitions “Dim the Lights” by Doris Purchase, and “POSE/ CUT/ FORM” by Keijo Tapanainen & Peter Shoebridge!
